October 15 2011 Audrey Denny Memorial Milton

The 2011 Canadian Championships are complete and a new season of Shuffleboard has started in Southern Ontario.
The Audrey Denny Memorial kicked off the first of 18 tournaments. There were nine teams competing in a full round robin and resulted in four teams in the winners circle. Thanks to
Bonnie Redmond for a great tournament,piping hot Chili,and lots of laughs on a very cold and blustery fall day!

November 12 2011 Draw For Partners Kitchener

The first tournament for Kitchener was held today at the Polish Legion Branch 412.
There were fourteen teams and everyone played hard all day.
A very successful cake walk was held and a lot of people went home with homemade goodies. Thanks to everyone who donated all the delicious sweets! Thanks to Brenda Brown for
running the tournament and to our new bartender Kelly Hoffman. You both did a great job! Thanks also to the Polish Legion everyone who was there for supporting the OSA.
We can't forget Patricia who as always kept everyone's appetite under control with her delicious Burgers!

January 21 2012 Draw For Partners Milton

The bright sunny day in brought out 15 teams to the Draw tournament in Milton today. It was chilly outside but the "chili" inside was piping
hot as were the players all competing for 1st place!
A great day was had by all. There was a cake walk,50/50 draws and lots of laughs.

January 28 2012 Open Doubles Kitchener

Holy cow! It was the first real big snowfall of 2012 and still 17 teams showed up for the Open Doubles at the Polish Legion in Kitchener!
Patricia served up Chili dogs and Kelly did a fantastic job serving up the beverages. Thanks to Rose for taking care of the score board
and thanks to all the players who made it a great day of fun and sportsmanship!

It was hard to believe that February 4th consisted of no snow and lots of sunshine. It was a beautiful day for 15 teams to be competing at
the Fonthill legion. There were big juicy burgers provided by the kitchen staff and always a smiling face serving up the beverages.

February 04 2012 Open Doubles Fonthill

Girls just wanna have fun was the call for the day at the Polish Legion in Kitchener.The 13th annual Ladies Only tournament was a great
success with teams from Milton,Welland Kitchener competing for the top for spots.
Even though it was snowy day,thirteen teams of lovely ladies filled the room for some friendly competition.
There was lots of food,lots of laughter and lots of raffles. Thanks to Rico for running the tournament and to all the guys who helped out
with the draws so all us girls could have fun!!

This year the Jackie and John Open Doubles tournament was newly named as the "Player's Memorial" tournament.
Over the last several years the OSA has lost so many exceptional players and we wanted to remember them all by having a special
tournament in their memory. There was a tremendous turn out of 18 teams. Two divisions battled it out to play in the finals. There was
delicious food served up by lovely Sara and Mirzanna did an excellent job behind the bar. Thanks to Paul Baker for getting the boards
ready and setting up the room for us. Thanks to Rosie for convening and thanks to all the players for honoring all those special players
we have lost.
