The 2010-2011 Tournament season officially began at Fonthill Legion.
There was a great turnout with 12 teams from the three districts of Niagara,Milton and Kitchener.
It was so nice to back to the Fonthill area.The kitchen served up a great lunch and a good time was had by all!

It was a rainy and cool day in Milton but regardless 14 teams showed up in honor of our lovely Audrey Denny.
There was Hot Chili and lots of yummy sandwiches so no one went home hungry.
Bonnie Redmond did a fantastic job of running the tournament and all the players had a great day with top competition and loads of laughs!
Many players went home with their sweet tooths satisfied from the very successful cake walk. Thanks to all who donated to this fund raiser!
Congratulations to all the winners. Because we were short one player Darlene Perusello volunteered to walk the board and came out on
top...Kudos to her!!!

It was a blustery day in Southern Ontario but 11 teams of die hard Shuffleboard players filled the Fonthill Legion for a day of competition.The
kitchen provided a fantastic meal including dessert. A full round robin was played and the following players took the top three positions.

18 Teams poured into the Polish Legion for a three division tournament. It was a snowy day and cold outside but inside the competition was hot!

Outside was snow,hail and freezing temperatures but inside the Fonthill Legion the competition was hot! There were a couple of new players
and some veteran players who haven't played in tournaments for sometime. That is always nice to see! Welcome back!
A total of seventeen teams in two divisions battled it out for first place and the NRSL trophy.
Gary Dixon and Elvis Racicot ran a very successful tournament ! Thanks to the bartenders who were kept busy all day. A special thanks to the

February 12 2011 Ladies Only Kitchener

It was a bitter sweet day for many today as the ladies once again gathered for the day at the annual Ladies Only Tournament in Kitchener.
It is always a special day for the girls to just be silly and enjoy each others company and playing skills and a great day was had by all.
On a sad note we also said a final good bye today to OSA member Merv Neil who passed away on February 6th. Merv was known for always wearing
ties to the OSA tournaments and as a tribute to him all the ladies wore ties or bowties. There was also a moments silence in his honor.

February 18 2011 Jackie and John Memorial Kitchener

Today the Jackie and John Memorial tournament was held at the Polish Legion in Kitchener.
Jackie Baverstock and John Wojtaszynski were honored by 18 teams all competing to be the ones to have their name added to the 1st Place trophy.
It was a cold,snowy and very windy day and Patricia and Sara were there serving up piping hot chili. Thanks to all the players who helped with the
raffles.Thanks to Paul Baker for having the tables all set to go and the coffee on .Thanks to Kelly Hoffman and Brenda Brown for their help with
running the tournament . A great day was had by all !

Milton was the place to be on one of the first bright sunny days leading into spring. Sixteen teams in two divisions were there for the last
Milton tournament of the 2010/2011 season. As usual Bonnie and Brenda saw that everything ran smoothly and Colleen saw to it that
everyone enjoyed delicious burgers and sausage on the BBQ.

This years Tournament of Champions brought out twelve teams full of excitement to bring home the trophy!
This tournament was special because the men wore ties and bowties to honor our Shuffleboard friend Merv Neil who recently passed away. This was one of Merv's favorite
tournaments. Paul Baker set up the boards for the day and Patricia served up some awesome burgers! Thanks to Dana for taking care of all the thirsty players!

April 23 2011 Earl Kurt Memorial Kitchener

Todays tournament was the last of 17 for the 2010/2011 season. There was a great turnout with 18 teams participating in the Earl Kurt Memorial.
Earl's daughter Donna and his son Jack were on hand to present the top four teams their prize money.
Dana did a great job at the bar. Paul Baker had the tables all set to go and Patricia served up her famous Sloppy Joes. A great day was had by all and now everyone is
looking forward to the Playdowns May 6th 7th and 8th in Welland Ontario. Good luck to all the players in that event.The winners advance to the Canadian Shuffleboard
Championship in Vancouver BC in October.
