This years Playdowns were held at Trappers Sports Bar in Welland Ontario.

Players from Milton,Niagara Region and Kitchener flooded in on Friday evening eager to play hard and win the opportunity to compete in the
Canadian Shuffleboard Championships in October 2011.

This year the event is being hosted by the British Columbia Shuffleboard Association (BCSA) in Burnaby BC from October 3rd to 8th , 2011

The venue will be Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre

Participation was up from last year in 4 of the five categories with:

  • 21 teams for the Mixed Doubles event (18 in 2010)
  • 14 entries for the Ladies Singles  (11 in 2010)
  • 24 entries for the Men's Singles   (19 in 2010)
  • 11 teams for the Ladies Doubles ( 6 in 2010)
  • 12 teams for the Mens Doubles  ( same as 2010)

The Trappers Staff was amazing and treated everyone like family. Thanks so much to everyone there for great food and hospitality!
A huge pat on the back goes to Gary Dixon (President /NRSL).

He and his team moved all the boards, maintained them all weekend and did a fantastic job of convening the tournament .

Several half and half draws were held over the entire weekend with the following winners:

  • Karen and Mike (Trappers staff) - $88.00
  • Scott Burwell - $73.00
  • Gary Dixon -$44.50
  • Fern Tisi - $90.00
  • Jessie Thompson - $87.00
  • Jean Luc Chattilon - $65.00
  • Karen and Melissa (Trappers staff) - $65.00

  • The winner of the Digital Camera draw was Bruce Cutler (Elora Legion Branch 229)

We wish our winners and the winners from all the cross Canada charters the best of luck in Burnaby and look forward to once again seeing
our "Shuffleboard Family" from across Canada.
